Red on Red

Description

A red frogfish sits on a piece of red coral, its skin perfectly mimicking the colour and structure of the coral. It is a great example of how evolution helps animals to stay hidden in their environment, either to hide from prey or to be able to hunt. The photo was taken underwater, at a depth of about 12 meters, in Dauin, The Philippines.
