Red-bearded bee-eater

Description

There are 5 species of bee-eaters endemic to Malaysia. One of the most elusive is the forest-dwelling Red-bearded Bee-eater. I captured one of these beauties by identifying a favourite perch and setting up equipment accordingly. This female has caught a cicada which will become a meal for the bee-eater.
